1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google instead.

Usage data

• Questions you ask the AI solver — question text, subject, board, and language selected.
• Number of questions asked per day, your total questions asked, and your daily streak.
• A rough "time spent learning" figure, tracked only while you are logged in and the tab is visible on screen.
• Your subject preferences, such as which subjects you ask about most.

Contact and waitlist information

If you use our contact form or join the Premium waitlist, we collect your name (for contact) and email address so we can respond to you or notify you when Premium launches.

Payment information

If you subscribe to Premium, payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card, UPI, or bank details — Razorpay handles payment data directly and shares only confirmation details, such as payment status and order ID, with us.

Technical data

Like most websites, our servers automatically log basic technical information such as your IP address, used for example to enforce daily question limits for users who are not logged in, and your browser type.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the AI homework solver and related features.
• To enforce free-plan daily question limits fairly, for both logged-in and guest users.
• To show you your account stats — questions asked, streak, favorite subject, recent questions, and time spent learning.
• To send transactional emails, such as a welcome email when you sign up, a confirmation when you contact us, or a notification when Premium launches.
• To process Premium subscription payments and manage your subscription status.
• To maintain the security of our systems, including detecting and preventing abuse of our forms and AI solver.
• To improve StudyHelpAI based on aggregate usage patterns — we look at overall trends, not individual private conversations, when making product decisions.

3. How Questions Are Processed

When you ask a question, the text is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate your answer. We do not sell your questions to advertisers. Your recent question history, up to your last 10 questions, is stored on your account so you can review it later, and is visible only to you when you're logged in.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use essential session mechanisms, such as WordPress login cookies and security nonces, to keep you logged in and to protect our forms from unauthorized requests. Guest users' daily question counts are tracked using your session and, as a backup, your IP address, so the free-question limit can't easily be bypassed by clearing cookies alone.

5. Who We Share Data With

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers needed to run StudyHelpAI:

• AI model provider — receives your question text to generate an answer.
• Razorpay — processes Premium payments.
• Google (Nextend Social Login) — if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Email delivery — used to send account, contact, and waitlist emails.
• Hosting/WordPress infrastructure — stores your account and usage data securely.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of StudyHelpAI, our users, or the public.

6. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal profile data within a reasonable time, except where we're required to retain certain records, such as payment records, for legal or accounting purposes.

7. Your Rights and Choices

• You can view and update your account information at any time from your Account page.
• You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and associated data, by contacting us below.
• You can log out or stop using StudyHelpAI at any time; guest usage limits are tracked temporarily and expire automatically.

8. Children's Privacy

StudyHelpAI is designed for school and college students. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information you'd like removed, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including hashed passwords, nonce-based request verification, and restricting API keys and secrets to server-side configuration only. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to keep your information safe.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as StudyHelpAI evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever we do. We encourage you to review this page occasionally.
